Background:

The founder of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha Padmabushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil was a man of the masses who devoted all his mind and heart to cause of their education. He realized that the social ills could be remedied though the education of the masses alone and laid the foundation of rayat shikshan sanstha by opening a boarding house at kale (Tal – Karad, Dist – Satara ) dated on 4th Oct.1919 Soon, however in 1924 he shifted the head quarters of his educational institution to Satara which is registered in 1935.

Now there are about 709 branches of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. Which are expanded in Maharashtra and Karnataka states.

The great Maharaja Maratha Mahadji Shinde of village Kanherkhed, Tal – Koregaon Dist – Satara was ruling in Gwaller in UP State as a Saradar. Whose property had 555 acres of land in Jamgaon, Tal- Parner, Dist – Ahmadnagar.

Shrimant Jivajirao Shinde who donated this property to Rayat Shikshan Sanstha on 26th March 1955 in commemoration of Maharaja Madhavrao Shinde and named this branch “MAHARAJA MADHAVRAO SHINDE JUNIOR COLLEGE OF EDUCATION JAMGAON, TAL- PARNER , DIST – AHMADNAGAR ”. And this college has begun to train the pupil-teachers since 1955. We trained pupil-teachers and they are working their duties all over the Maharashtra state.

The College taught the Senior P.T.C. and Junior P.T.C. Courses till 1994.For which the students have to pass X Std. Examination. It was since 1994 that the XII Std. Pass students come to be admitted. Now the faculty wise percentage of these students is Science 50%, Arts 40% and Commerce 10%
